A Girl with a Dream

I graduated college in 2018 with as much sense as a broke 20-something-year-old would typically have— none. I had yet to understand what independent meant and the value of a dollar. I was fortunate to have parents who helped me in both these areas throughout my educational years. As I entered the workforce, I soon realized that the major I studied, architecture, was nowhere near what the profession asked of me. It’s waaaaay more dry and dull and completely divorced from what made me fall madly in love with design. After six years of working in the industry, I realize my life is worth more than sitting in front of a computer in a dimly lit room from 9:30 am to 6:30 pm working on someone else’s dream. I have had enough.

AMP is my project, my dream worth chasing. As of now, we specialize in making pots and plant accessories for design-forward indoor garden enthusiasts who have a meaningful relationship with their spaces and plants and believe that aesthetics should never be sacrificed. This is my first journal entry of many. I am writing to log all mistakes, lessons learned, and accomplishments to educate clients about this business, inspire designers to always express themselves, and remind myself why I am doing this.
